Quality Wallpaper started in 1991 with my dad, Bob Keck, a silver Volkswagen pickup, and a willingness to do careful work when a lot of people were rushing through jobs. Some of the first projects were parade homes around Boise during a time when wallpaper was still a major part of high-end residential design. My dad built the business the old-fashioned way — by showing up, doing quality work, and becoming someone contractors and homeowners trusted enough to call again.
I grew up around the trade and eventually became a second-generation installer and the current owner of the company. Over the years, Quality Wallpaper has installed more than 20 million square feet of wallpaper across homes, hotels, hospitals, schools, restaurants, and commercial spaces throughout the Northwest.
A lot has changed since 1991. Materials have changed. Design trends have changed. The Boise area has changed. But the core of the business really hasn’t.
We still believe good work comes from paying attention.
That means understanding the wall before we ever open a roll. It means knowing when wallpaper is the right choice for a space — and when it’s not. It means being honest with clients instead of trying to upsell them into something that doesn’t fit their home, budget, or long-term goals.
I understand what it feels like to invest in your home or property because I’ve done it myself. Most people don’t install wallpaper every day. For them, it’s a meaningful project. Sometimes it’s part of a custom home they’ve spent years planning. Sometimes it’s finally finishing a room they’ve stared at unfinished for too long. Sometimes it’s a restaurant owner taking a risk on a new space they hope succeeds.
I don’t take that lightly.
Today, I continue to work closely with homeowners, designers, contractors, and remodelers throughout Boise and across the western United States. While I operate with support from trusted local professionals when projects require it, clients can expect me to be deeply involved from start to finish.
A lot of our work now comes through long-standing relationships and referrals. Designers know we understand layout and detail. Contractors know we show up and communicate. Homeowners know we’ll tell them the truth about the process and treat their home with respect.
At the end of the day, what still drives me is pretty simple: I like helping spaces feel finished. I like taking something flat and turning it into a room people remember. And after all these years, I still enjoy walking into a completed space, standing quietly for a second, and knowing the details were handled the way they should have been.
